HATAY Flavours are in China

Introducing the city cuisine in the national and international arena and aiming to increase the interest of domestic and foreign tourists to Hatay with these promotions, the last stop of the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality (HMM) was China.

The chairman advisor of Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, ÖmerFarukÇelebi and educator AsumanKerkez, who had presented special tastes of Hatay in Spain in a similar organization in the past months, now have the opportunity to present these unique taste in Chengdu, China’s gastronomy centre.

Two academicians from Chengdu Tourism and Gastronomy University helped Kerkez while she was cooking sarmaiçi, tepsi kebab, kağıt kebab and semolina halva.

Çelebi said: “The organization was very productive for us. Country’s TV channel was with us for three days while we were making unique tastes of our kitchen. We have changed our dishes a bit according to Chinese taste. Hatay cuisine in our country and Chengdu cuisine in China are the same values for their countries. I would like to thank our Mayor LütfüSavaş, who gave us confidence and support in this study, and AsumanKerkez, who made a difference with her presentations.”
